First of All
In our lesson we discussed and evaluated what an entrepreneur was and what skill set they have. We were then put into groups to try and decipher what our own skills were.
From what I learned from this, I have decent strengths but also varying weaknesses, I have a good grasp of reality. One strength linking to this is I have the ability to know when I should speak up and step down when it comes to pitching ideas, because sometimes overthinking and making things more complicated doesn't help matters in a tough situation.
Another skill I know I have is the ability to deal with my faults, whether it be mishandling a project, or being critiqued in general I know when I need to learn from my mistakes and not be blinded by some false sense of entitlement.
Task 1.1
There is a key difference between an enterprising person and an entrepreneur.
Firstly, and enterprising person is someone who can show initiative, is a dedicated, hard worker who will undertake even the hardest, most difficult tasks and with strive to work harder and harder to become more skilled. Someone who can think outside the box, show ideas to co-workers and be relied upon, by an employer and colleagues.
Meanwhile, an entrepreneur is someone who uses their mindset to get opportunities to make and create new businesses, they are the kind that have be fearless, gamble and have nerves of steel to take the risks to get their business to market. They have be creative enough to the public and be realistic to know what chances to seize to benefit their business.

Task 1.2
An example of a local enterprising person is Adam Walton, who before working at Middlesbrough College he was a professional in the film industry, London specifically. Such as marketing or distribution for Universal Pictures/Studios as a producer for a film agency and film purchaser for Odeon cinemas.
He describes himself as an enterprising person in the way he eventually and gradually worked upt eh career ladder in the film industry. He moved to London without a degree or marketing qualifications. But through hard work and an exceeding amount of hard willed determination, he ended up getting his ambition for working at one of the most major studios ever.
Some of the tasks he had to do to ascend up the ladder is he had to knocking doors of production companies and handing out various CVs and being a runner before anything else and then developing contacts that would eventually get him to where he was.

Task 1.3
A local entrepreneur I am going to write about is Duncan Bannatyne.
In his early life, being born west of Glasgow, he had lived in a room shared with six other families, a poor and desperate upbringing. He then became well known as a child by showing exemplar arithmetic skills and passed the eleven plus exam.
Showing a good amount of knowledge, his business began to start almost immediately after he moved to Stockon-on-Tees with a van he purchased for £450 for ice cream. Soon after he expanded, buying more and more vans and soon sold his business for £28,000.
Showing he could make something out of a small amount to gradually inflate it to a bigger sum, he then founded a nursing home business going by the name Quality Care Homes. Which in no time was sold for £26 million.
Ever since he expanded into health clubs, with a chain to his name, also bars, hotels and a varying sort of property.
So clearly he knows what strengths he has, being he knows what businesses to go after and which to handle and how, which methods are best and how to make the most out of a purchase to then come out with a fatter load of money to get higher and higher on the metaphorical ladder.
To add to this, his estimated worth in 2011 was £430 million according by the Sunday Times Rich List. However in the following year his net worth dropped harshly because of his divorce and this resulted in a drop in value of his chained property. Showing that having a bad name can indeed affect businesses.
However, he soon gained respect back and is now as of 2016 worth £200 million.

Task 2.1
I have decent strengths but also varying
weaknesses, I have a good grasp of reality. One strength linking to
this is I have the ability to know when I should speak up and step
down when it comes to pitching ideas, because sometimes overthinking
and making things more complicated doesn't help matters in a tough
situation.
Another
skill I know I have is the ability to deal with my faults, whether it
be mishandling a project, or being critiqued in general I know when I
need to learn from my mistakes and not be blinded by some false sense
of entitlement.
Task 2.2
The skills I have include knowing when to speak up and when to not, dealing with mistakes and correcting them accordingly, open to criticism and time management.
The person I am comparing, Adam Walton, has great communication skills, determination and an incredibly good sense of time management.
An entrepreneur knows the values of the properties they possess, they are committed and dedicated to a successful future and know the best times to sell and advance to another business.
One thing that Adam and I have in common is time management, we both know how to handle projects effectively and when they are due in for. We don't let time get ahead of us and we pull through until the end and make sure the project gets finished.
I have nothing similar to that of Duncan Bannatyne, But I know he has widely different skills to that of me, including being committed and dedicated to the future, whereas for me I am not deadset on my own and am being open to possibilities.

Task 2.3
My main similarities with Adam and Duncan are, determination, I am determined just like them to work, though my outlook is different than that of Duncan's, I am set on getting work done, but for my future, I do not know.
I also have the similarity with Adam of having time management, I can focus on a task being done for a certain date and I will work my hardest to get it done, deadset on finishing it by the time it should be done. I always make sure that I can get the task handled.
Main differences include Adam having good communication skills, this I lack, I happen to have ok communication, but I sometimes struggle saying things and what to say in group activities. As a result, it becomes harder for me to get my point across. This, I imagine he doesn't have, but I have another issue, being that I don't have half as many contacts as he does, which is important, to have connections in this industry is very important.
With Duncan, there's the previously mentioned determination. However I also have the issue of not knowing next to anything about property values and when to sell said values, it is beyond me.
So, my plan is to work my hardest and tackle these faults, by working in more projects, maybe in things like property and such, I can develop a way to better myself in this field. If I were to try and contact people in similar situations, we can collaborate and learn off of each other, propping each other up and becoming more clever in the subject.
When it comes to communication skills, the way I can fight that and try to be a better person for communication, I will try to get into more groups often and try to talk more often. Even if I have to take charge at certain points, yes it may be scary to do something new but it will benefit me in the long run.
By sticking to group activities I can learn what's good to say and not in certain situations, sure I know when to speak, but not what to say. This means that I should gather as much as I can from more group activities and try to reach out more. If I try to go into these projects with the mindset of learning communication, from all involved, I should learn a decent amount.

Conclusion
I learned that "an enterprising person is someone who can show initiative, is a dedicated, hard worker who will undertake even the hardest, most difficult tasks and with strive to work harder and harder to become more skilled".
And "an entrepreneur is someone who uses their mindset to get opportunities to make and create new businesses, they are the kind that have be fearless, gamble and have nerves of steel to take the risks to get their business to market".
I managed to identify my own skills, what they were, how to use them in different environments and also how to use them in other pieces of work.
I also used my skills in another piece of work, being production management, there, I let my creativity and determination flow, helping out with pre-production and filming alike.
